History
The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago was established in 1916 as The Commercial Arts School. Over the years, it evolved and expanded its programs, becoming an essential institution for creative education. In 2001, The Commercial Arts School joined The Art Institutes system of schools, and its name was changed to The Illinois Institute of Art-Chicago to reflect its affiliation.
